The test kit is now called the “Integrated E-Z Split Key Cup II” giving it a brand new hinged lid that seals with an audible click when closed. The lid of the cup is hinged turning it into a “one-piece device” giving you less to keep up with when administering drug tests throughout the day.

This cup has two specimen chambers, one for the initial test and the other for the lab to use for confirmation, should a non-negative result appear. The second chamber’s urine specimen is always pristine, untouched, or uncontaminated. Therefore this device serves as a split specimen drug test, that works as a time saver eliminating the need for pre-pouring a lab specimen as this is done for you automatically.

Another impressive feature about this product is the “key” which you will always find seated at the very top of the lid of the cup. All you need to do is remove it from the lid and when you are ready to start and insert it firmly into the side. Once the key is inserted, the cup gets busy as the specimen floods into the testing chamber, the drug strips begin a process carrying the urine specimen up until a chemical reaction occurs and result lines began to form, this process takes only seconds.

Do these drug test cups have an expiration date? Yes, the shelf life of our products ranges from 12 to 18 months. The expiration date of each Lot of devices is indicated on each individual foil pouch and can be used until that date.

Is there specific training required to administer these drug tests? Although there is no official training required to administer the tests, procedure cards are provided as well as, instructional videos. Please make sure to refer to the package insert for complete instructions, limitations, and warnings.

Will these test kits hold up in court? Instant drug tests provide only a preliminary analytical test result. A more specific alternate chemical method must be used in order to obtain a confirmed analytical result- gas chromatography (mass spectrometry) (GC/MS) is the preferred confirmatory method. What should I do if a test line is fainter than the other lines showing on the test? A fainter test line has absolutely nothing to do with how the results are determined. Differing shades on a test line can be a normal occurrence and should be considered as a negative result.

How to administer the test
Prior to testing.: Allow the test cup, urine specimen, and/or controls to equilibrate to room temperature (15-30°C)

1. Remove the key by twisting it from the center of the cup’s cap.
2. Collect specimen in the cup and secure cap tightly by pressing down on the pull tab until an audible click is heard.
3. Technician dates and initials the security seal and attaches the security seal over the cup cap.
4. Place the cup on a flat surface and push the key to a fully closed position to initiate the test. Start the timer.
5. Remove the peel-off -label covering the test results.
6. If adulteration is included within the test cup, read the adulteration strip(s) between 3 and 5 minutes
7. Compare the colors on the adulteration strip to the enclosed color chart. If the specimen indicates adulteration, refer to your Drug-Free Policy for guidelines on adulterated specimens. We recommend not to interpret the drug test. Either retest the urine or collect another specimen.
8. Read the drug strip results at 5 minutes. The drug test results remain stable for up to sixty minutes.
