The Split Specimen drug test cup is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of multiple drug metabolites in urine. A patented key operated trigger system that allows the collector to transfer 2 Ml of the specimen into the separate drug testing chamber. This creates a split specimen drug test automatically. If the drug test cup reports a non-negative result, the test cup can then be sent to the laboratory with the remaining specimen untouched for GC/MS confirmation.

Using the Split Specimen drug test cup, one will notice that it has a rounded lid that easily screws on or off. The lid contains a seal seated above the threads of the cups lid and prevents any leakage while the cup is in use or in transit to a lab for confirmation. Detect multiple drugs with laboratory accuracy in minutes. Results can be photocopied if necessary. and a temperature strip is located on the back of the cup to help identify that the specimen temperature is within normal human range.

Many of the drug test cups on the market today start to run once the specimen chamber has been voided. In other words, the test starts to run immediately once the urine specimen makes contact with the chamber resulting in a “Donor Controlled Testing Operation”. This is not desirable due to the fact that it is not convenient for the technician (the technician administers the drug test). The difference in using a Split Specimen Cup. Once the specimen is voided and the temperature is verified to be within acceptable range, the test can then be labeled and set aside until a more convenient time for operation and recording of results.

When that time comes, you will find a key positioned at the top of the lid of the cup. Remove the key and insert it into the hole located on the cups side. Once you have inserted the key, the device will start the testing process. You will need to record the results within 5 minutes. This is what we call a “Collector Controlled Drug Test” and will make your job much easier decreasing your stress level and giving you more time during your day to do what is needed.
